Rotary Ireland’s website has been rebuilt from the ground up, launching 1st July 2026. The rebuild focuses on speed, security and accessibility, and making it easier for members and the public to find what they need.
A faster, more secure foundation
The site no longer depends on a costly, proprietary page-builder plugin — it now runs on a lightweight, custom-built theme. Unused and inactive plugins have been removed, reducing the site’s exposure following a security incident earlier this year.
Redesigned news and blog
News posts now display in a proper card layout with consistent thumbnails, clear dates and a “read more” link on every entry — replacing what had previously been unstyled default output.
Improved Find a Club
The club directory can be filtered by search term, area, meeting day and format, alongside an interactive map. It now works reliably even on a slow connection, showing the full directory rather than an empty page while it loads.
A secure members area
Verified District 1160 members can sign in without a password, using a one-time code sent to their email. Members not yet on file can request access, which is reviewed before approval.
Accessibility improvements
Colour contrast has been corrected across the navigation and key pages to meet accessibility guidelines, and FAQ sections are now screen-reader friendly and fully keyboard-navigable.
Refined navigation and design
Breadcrumb trails now run through the site so visitors always know where they are, and dropdown menus are smoother and easier to discover.
