Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 29 September 2026 and applies to rotary.ie, the website of Rotary in Ireland (District 1160).

Our commitment

Rotary in Ireland wants everyone to be able to use this website: to find a club, learn about our work, give, and get in touch. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colours meet the WCAG contrast ratios, including on photographs and coloured bands.
  • Every page has one main heading, a logical heading order and landmarks, and a “Skip to content” link.
  • Menus, forms, accordions and sliders work with a keyboard and show a visible focus indicator.
  • Pages adapt to small screens and enlarged text.
  • Animations respect the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
  • The redesigned pages were tested with automated accessibility checks (axe-core) and reviewed by hand.

Known limitations

Some content does not yet fully meet the standard. We are working on it:

  • Older news and club posts may have images without useful text descriptions.
  • PDF documents, such as guides and forms from Rotary International, may not be fully accessible. Contact us and we will provide the information in another format.
  • Embedded content from other services (videos, maps and the cookie settings tables) is provided by third parties and may not meet every requirement.
  • Irish language: the site is currently in English only. An Irish version of this statement will follow.

Feedback and help

If you have difficulty using any part of this website, or need information in a different format, please tell us through our contact form. Tell us the web address of the page and describe the problem. We aim to reply within 10 working days.

How we review this statement

We review this statement when the website changes significantly, and at least once a year.
