CLONMEL, Monday 13 July 2026 — The Rotary Club of Clonmel has a new President for 2026–27, with Ian Bowen formally taking office at the club’s annual handover evening on Thursday 9 July.
Outgoing President Richie Molloy, who now becomes Immediate Past President, passed the chain of office to his successor before a strong turnout of members and guests. The handover marks the start of the new Rotary year, which runs from 1 July to 30 June across all 65 clubs in Ireland.
A first outing for the new Assistant Governor
The evening was also a milestone for Sían Moloughney, who joined the celebration in one of her first engagements as Assistant Governor for District 1160, Zone 4 (Wicklow, Gorey, Wexford, Waterford, Clonmel, Kilkenny and Carlow). Assistant Governors support clusters of clubs across the district, linking them with the district leadership team throughout the Rotary year.
Her attendance underlined the strong connection between the Rotary Club of Clonmel and the wider district — the only Rotary district that spans the whole island of Ireland.
Looking ahead to the new Rotary year
Ian Bowen takes the helm of a club with a long record of community service in Clonmel and south Tipperary, and members can expect a full programme of service projects and fundraising in the year ahead. The club also paid tribute to Richie Molloy for his leadership over the past twelve months.
