LIMERICK, Wednesday 17 June 2026 — The Rotary Club of Limerick North Munster has signed a Civic Partnership Declaration with Limerick Chamber, formalising a shared commitment to the social, economic and civic wellbeing of the city and the wider Mid-West.
The declaration sets out an intention to collaborate where opportunities arise to strengthen community connections, promote positive initiatives and support the continued development of Limerick city and region. It was signed on behalf of the club by President Brian Hurley and on behalf of Limerick Chamber by President Maria Gleeson.
Complementary roles, shared purpose
Rotary and Limerick Chamber play different but complementary roles in the city. The Chamber represents and advocates for the region’s business community, while Rotary clubs focus on hands-on community service. The partnership recognises the value of the two organisations working together where their goals align.
Limerick Chamber CEO Donnacha Hurley and his colleagues were thanked for their welcome and support in bringing the agreement to fruition. The club also acknowledged Rotarian Christopher Heaney, a board member of Limerick Chamber, for his part in developing the partnership.

Building on the relationship
Both organisations have signalled an intention to build on the relationship in the years ahead and to explore further opportunities to work together for the benefit of the wider Limerick community.
The Rotary Club of Limerick North Munster is one of 65 clubs in District 1160, the only Rotary district that spans the whole island of Ireland. They meet at the Savoy Hotel in Limerick on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 1 pm.
